Bastrop and Caldwell County 4-H will have a Market Goat
Workshop on Thursday, January 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Old Sacred Heart
Parish Hall at Rockne. All goat project members are invited to
attend. Dave Barksdale of Surefed Feeds in Brady will present a program
on feeding and nutritional needs of market goats, followed by a presentation by
Glenn Avriett of New Braunfels on preparing your goat for shows, and what items
to take to a show. If your goat needs its hooves trimmed, you may bring
it. We will begin hoof trimming at 4:00 p.m. at the Parish Hall, and will
finish before the educational program begins at 6 p.m. Please RSVP to
the Bastrop or Caldwell County Extension offices by January 2 if you plan to
attend. This will be an excellent workshop, presented by leading
professionals in the goat industry.
